Cyber Bullying?

Of course everyone has heard of bullying. But as time changes, so do methods. Cyber bullying is the new, hip way to target people. With all the social networking sites online currently, spreading rumors or harmful teases can reach millions of people instantly. This form of bullying is extreme in how quickly it will affect the victim. And also, anything posted on the internet will never be deleted, so this type of bullying will leave a scar that lasts just as long. I find the idea of bullying another person to be absolutely pathetic. Especially if said bully must publicize the deed in such a way that everyone has access to it. I believe bullies are a bunch of ignorant children who are unable to grow-up and keep with the times so they try to hold on to as many people as possible on their sinking ship. Cyber bullying is an absurdity in its existance and I feel that people should not be affected by it too much because it's nothing but a bunch of pixels.

Remedial Classes

Pre-school is created to prepare children how to interact with other children in elementary school. Elementary school is to teach students how to behave properly. Middle school installs study habits. High school is to apply all of the acquired skills to prepare for the higher education of college. Yet today, billions of dollars are spent annually on remedial classes for freshmen attending college. High school students who thought they did well in school due to their easy A's and cool teachers realize the hard way that college is nothing like high school. Everyone in college is there to learn and research, yet in high school all everyone seems to care about is who goes out with who, current trends and styles, and who is social networking instead of doing homework. Has the public eduation system failed us students again due to the lack of efficient teachers who are capable of challenging the students and prepare them for the rigorous courses in college? Or is it simply society to blame, for all the "short-cuts" it has created through meaningless technology and short-sighting the people on how their current actions will affect them in the long-term?

Ch. P Applying Linear Equations in Two Variables

Ch. P Transforming a Function

The parent function of the original graph is f(x)=x (as indicated with the light pencil).

The first transformation of the graph would be a vertical transformation by moving the original graph of f(x)=x down 5 units, transforming the graph to f(x)=x-5 (as indicated with the red graph).

The next transformation of the graph would be a horizontal transformation by moving the original graph of f(x)=x to the left 2 units, transforming the graph to f(x)=x+2 (as indicated with the blue graph).

The next transformation of the graph would be a horizontal-vertical transformation by moving the original graph of f(x)=x to the left 2 units and down 4 units, transforming the graph to f(x)=x+2-4 (as indicated by the green graph).

The next transformation of the graph would be a reflection. To reflect across the x-axis, you have to multiply the original graph by (-1). Thus the new graph, f(x)=-x (as indicated by the purple graph).

The final transformation of the graph would be a horizontal-vertical reflection. The graph would be moved 2 units to the left, 8 units up, and the whole function would be multiplied by (-1), f(x)=-x+2+8 (as indicated by the black graph).
